Helps patients improve their ability to make sounds or use language, or develop non-spoken means of communication. May specialize in working with patients of a certain age group, or treat speech problems resulting from a condition such as a stroke or cleft palate. Works in schools, hospitals and other healthcare facilities and works closely with physicians, psychologists, social workers, and other therapists.

Job Description

Rehab Directives is currently seeking a compassionate and motivated Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) to join our rehabilitation team at Mission Pines Nursing & Rehabilitation Center in North Las Vegas, Nevada. We are looking for candidates interested in either a Full-Time or Part-Time position working with an adult and geriatric population in a skilled nursing setting.

Adults/Geriatric The Speech-Language Pathologist will work alongside our Physical Therapy and Occupational Therapy team to evaluate and treat residents with a variety of communication, cognitive, and swallowing needs.
Responsibilities may include:
  • Speech and language evaluations and treatment
  • Dysphagia and swallowing evaluations and treatment
  • Cognitive-communication assessment and intervention
  • Aphasia and other communication disorders
  • Development of individualized treatment plans
  • Collaboration with nursing, dietary, physicians, PT, OT, and other members of the interdisciplinary team
