Part-Time Speech Therapist position available at Riverside Center for Rehabilitation and Nursing located in Castleton on the Hudson. We are seeking a dynamic, passionate, and team -oriented speech language pathologist to join our collaborative team. Duties:
Including but not limited to 1.Responsible for the evaluation, planning, directing, and administering of speech therapy modalities of treatment as prescribed by a licensed physician or nurse practitioner. 2.Administers treatments as prescribed by a referring physician or nurse practitioner in an effort to restore or maintain function 3.The Speech Therapist assists with the restoration or maintenance of resident functioning to prevent disability or further decline following injury, disease, or medical event. 4.Assist residents with reaching their highest practical level of well being 5.Communicates appropriately and effectively with physician/nurse practitioner as well as facility staff 6.The SLP is an integral member of the interdisciplinary team and collaborates in the development and review of resident care plans. 7.Completes all required documentation timely in both the Rehabilitation and Facility EMR systems in accordance with facility policy and all state and federal regulations. 8.Assist with education of residents, resident representatives, and other departments as it relates to speech therapy and resident care 9.Participates in performance improvement activities 10. Participates in all facility and departmental education including but not limited to infection control, fire safety, blood borne pathogens, and utilization of department equipment. Skills/Requirements:
Current New York State Speech Therapy License in good standing Dysphagia experience Previous LTC experience preferred Effective and engaging verbal/written communication skills Healthcare setting: Skilled Nursing Facility
