A Speech Language Pathologist diagnoses and treats speech, language, and swallowing disorders in patients with a variety of conditions. Helps patients improve their ability to make sounds or use language, or develop non-spoken means of communication. May specialize in working with patients of a certain age group, or treat speech problems resulting from a condition such as a stroke or cleft palate. Works in schools, hospitals and other healthcare facilities and works closely with physicians, psychologists, social workers, and other therapists.

Job Description

Per Diem position, Early Intervention and CPSE caseload. Primarily looking for therapists to service children in the Southtowns, particularly East Aurora and Elma. You choose which cases you would like to take, and schedule them for when it works for you.

Responsibilities:

Provide therapeutic services to children aged birth to 5 years in their most natural environment. Educate family members and caregivers on different intervention strategies to facilitate active involvement and carry-over. Work in diverse settings such as client homes, family day care homes, day care centers, or other community settings. Follow Individualized Family Service Plan (IFSP)/ Individualized Education Program (IEP), plan ongoing treatment, and interpret goals and treatment plan for parents. Prepare progress reports as per program timelines. Maintain client records. Maintain confidentiality of information regarding children and families (in accordance with HIPAA and State & Federal regulations) and submit records to agency within established deadlines.

Requirements:

Master's Degree in Speech/Language Pathology NYS License in Speech/Language Pathology Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC) Initial or Permanent NYS Public School Teacher Certificate, in the area of Speech and Language (required to provide services to children 3-5 years of age) 1-2 years of experience working with children birth-5 is preferred but not necessary Must be self-motivated, a team player, and exercise patience/professionalism.

Benefits:

Sick Time, up to 40 hours NYS Paid Family Leave. Per diem employees who maintain an average of 20 sessions per week, may submit receipts for therapy related expenses, up to $400 per year. Per diem employees who maintain an average of 10 sessions per week, may submit receipts for therapy related expenses, up to $200 per year. After twelve months of continuous employment, professional employees who maintain an average of 20 sessions per week are eligible for reimbursement for their NYS professional license renewal fee.
