soundSTART is a non-profit center offering speech and hearing care for children and young adults using cochlear implants and hearing aids, and their families. Our mission is to ensure that the children we work with develop the language, cognition, and social-emotional skills needed to succeed in family, in school, and in life! Our team of professionals guides families through their hearing journey, regardless of assistive technology choice or language mode. We are here to ensure that each and every child in our center achieves their potential. Our team is composed of people who love their jobs. We collaborate to maximize our different strengths to serve families. We are looking for a pediatric Speech-Language Pathologist to provide listening, speech and language therapy services to families at our Beaverton location.
Required Qualifications:
Education:
Masters in
Speech-Language Pathology Licensure:
Oregon SLP license
Experience:
At least two years as a pediatric
SLP Membership:
Member of at least one professional organization
Skills/Qualities:
Excellent communication skills and a growth mindset. Solid time management and organization. Self-motivated and independent, while open to team collaboration. Willingness to increase knowledge of serving Deaf/Hard of Hearing (D/HH) children. Experience providing parent coaching and direct speech-language therapy via telehealth.
Key Responsibilities:
See pediatric patients and their families in person and virtually. Existing caseload of 23 children. Provide listening, speech and language therapy using parent-coaching and direct treatment. Produce evaluations of speech, language and auditory skills. Support D/HH learners attending soundSTART's infant-toddler program and preschool. Use CounselEar for documentation, coding, and billing. Assist in the maintenance of all clinic equipment, space, and supplies. Provide referrals to appropriate health care and education specialists.
Compensation and Benefits:
$80,000-$95,000, based on experience and qualifications. Healthcare package, including dental coverage. 100% of liability insurance. Generous paid sick and vacation time and 20+ paid holidays per year. Financial support with licensure and continuing education costs. Eligibility for Oregon Saves Individual Retirement Account (IRA). Eligibility for Public Service Loan Forgiveness program. Ability to make a difference for families in a collaborative team environment without a huge caseload.
