Salary:
$53,683.89•99,647.38 (DOE), prorated based upon FTE. SLP stipend of $8,589.42 (Propated based upon FTE)
Insurance:
Generous Health, dental, and vision contribution from the district, currently up to $2277 (based upon family coverage), prorated based upon FTE.
PERS Retirement:
The district assumes and pays the 6% average employee contribution to the Oregon PERS system. Benefits to working at

Days TITLE:
Speech-Language Pathologist
REPORTS TO
Director of Special Services
JOB GOAL
To help students communicate appropriately through planning, implementation, and evaluation of individualized programs.
PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES
Assess individual speech-language needs for school age students and make recommendations. Prepare individual educational programs and materials. Deliver effective speech-language therapy to identified students. Consult with parents to integrate home and school goals. Assist schools in multidisciplinary, IEP, placement, intervention, and other educational decisions. Provide consultation to teachers regarding speech-language interventions. Establish and maintain positive, flexible, and cooperative relationships with the school community. Make independent decisions within established policies and procedures. Prepare accountability records regarding services provided. Complete all procedures and requirements related to Medicaid billing. Communicate clearly and appropriately. Participate in professional growth activities. Comply with district rules and policies. Perform job-related tasks as designed by the supervisor.

Experience:
Successful completion of an approved speech pathology program. Oregon teachers' license with speech language impaired endorsement and acquire Oregon Health Board of Examiners' speech pathology license, or; Oregon Health Board of Examiners' speech pathology license.
Interpersonal Skills:

Demonstrated ability to successfully work with students, staff, and the public.
Language Skills:
Ability to communicate fluently verbally and in writing. Ability to effectively present information and respond effectively to questions in one-on-one, small group situations to students and other school staff. Ability to verbally respond to common inquiries from students. Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, procedure manuals, and governmental regulations. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
Reasoning Ability:
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, schedule or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several variables in a variety of situations.
Computer Skills:
General knowledge of computer usage and ability to use database software, e-mail, internet software, spreadsheets, and word processing software.
Other Skills and Abilities:
Ability to appropriately communicate with students, teachers, and administrators. Ability to exercise good judgment and work in an environment with constant interruptions. Ability to work independently. Willingness to travel between KFCS schools to serve students.
Certificates, Licenses, Registrations:
Hold a valid Oregon Driver's License. Ability to obtain a valid CPR/First Aid card. Maintain required board certification.
