Traveling Position Summary:
The school based speech and language pathology teacher provides intervention to persons with communication impairments that adversely impact educational performance. The SLP is responsible for the diagnosis, prognosis, prescription, remediation and the intervention of speech and language articulation. A speech-language pathology teacher evaluates and treats children who have difficulty speaking, listening, reading and writing. The overall objective of speech-language pathology services is to optimize an individual's ability to communicate, thereby improving quality of life and educational achievement.Term of Employment:
187 days (possible flex calendar if working in Early Intervention) Early Intervention speech teachers are expected to spend minimum time providing services during the summer months since Early Intervention is a 12 month programSalary:

PA Licensure in Speech and Language Pathology PA Certificate inSpeech & Language Impaired Certificate of Clinical Competence Qualifications/Experience:
Demonstrate experience working with: Speech & Language Pathology in educational setting Children with various speech language and/or hearing impairments as well as other special education classifications Families to enhance their child's development Culturally diverse backgrounds and multi-cultural issues pertaining to speech and language Experience administering: Multi-disciplinary evaluations Adaptive behavior scales Diagnostic tools specific to speech and languageEssential Duties and Responsibilities:
Administer diagnostic evaluations Develop evaluation reports and Individualized Education Plans for eligible children Deliver direct and consultative speech and language services in early intervention, school age and in-home settings on individualized and group basis Complete necessary paperwork for reporting progress and updating data for children on caseload Provide training to staff and parents when necessary Log session notes into Easy Trac Communicate effectively with families and staff members Participate in Multi-Disciplinary team meetings to determine program eligibility and make placement/service recommendationsEvaluation:
