Job Description

Overview We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Speech Therapist to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong commitment to patient care and have expertise in assessing, diagnosing, and treating speech, language, and communication disorders. In this role, you will work closely with diverse patient populations to improve their communication abilities, enhance quality of life, and support overall health outcomes. Responsibilities Conduct comprehensive assessments of patients' speech, language, voice, fluency, and swallowing functions. Develop individualized treatment plans tailored to each patient's specific needs and goals. Implement evidence-based behavioral interventions to address communication challenges across various age groups and cultural backgrounds. Utilize telehealth platforms to provide remote therapy sessions when appropriate, ensuring continuity of care. Manage electronic health records (EHR) accurately and efficiently to document patient progress and treatment outcomes. Educate patients and their families on strategies to improve communication skills and manage speech or swallowing disorders effectively. Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams—including physicians, occupational therapists, and social workers—to coordinate comprehensive patient care. Maintain up-to-date knowledge of medical terminology related to speech therapy and hyperbaric medicine when applicable. Ensure adherence to safety protocols such as basic life support (BLS) and cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) during all clinical activities. Participate in ongoing professional development focused on wound care management, patient treatment planning, and working with culturally diverse communities. Requirements Valid licensure or certification as a Speech-Language Pathologist from an accredited program. Proven experience in patient care within clinical or community settings. Familiarity with behavioral interventions for speech, language, and swallowing disorders. Knowledge of medical terminology relevant to speech therapy practices. Experience managing electronic health records (EHR) systems efficiently. Certification in basic life support (BLS) and CPR is required. Ability to work effectively with culturally diverse populations and adapt interventions accordingly. Strong communication skills for client interaction, education, and interdisciplinary collaboration. Knowledge of telehealth platforms for remote therapy delivery is preferred.
