Job Description

Category Schools - SLP Job Type Contract Step into a rewarding contract opportunity as a school-based speech-language pathologist in the Northeast Philadelphia area. This long-term substitute assignment runs from August through December, serving a diverse K-8th grade caseload of approximately 40-50 students. Working hours are Monday to Friday, 8:00 AM to 2:30 PM—a schedule that supports work-life balance while allowing you to make a meaningful difference each day. During the first week, you'll participate in a comprehensive training period before student instruction begins on September 8th. You will collaborate closely with teachers and support staff to ensure students' needs are met and communication goals are achieved.
Qualified professionals will possess:
Current SLP license and SLP-CCC (Certificate of Clinical Competence) Recent experience in school settings preferred Strong knowledge of assessment tools, IEP development, and progress reporting Excellent communication and organizational skills Comfort working with a K-8th grade caseload in a culturally diverse community Key responsibilities include: Conducting evaluations and re-evaluations for speech and language needs Delivering direct therapy and supporting development of individual education plans Collaborating with multidisciplinary teams and participating in IEP meetings Documenting services and tracking student progress per district and state guidelines Providing consultation and support for staff and families as needed This position offers an opportunity to make an immediate impact with the support of a welcoming school environment.
