Cooperative Educational Service Agency 10 (CESA 10) is seeking a full-time, school year (190 days) Birth to Three Speech and Language Pathologist. The Speech and Language Pathologist, a member of the Special Education and Pupil Services Department, is a therapist who works directly with children having exceptional educational needs in the area of speech and/or language. Interested applicants must possess a master's degree, have or be eligible for a Wisconsin Department of Public Instruction license in Speech and Language Pathology (1820), and possess a valid driver's license for travel to contracted district(s). At least two (2) years of experience is preferred. Assessment
- Provide formal/informal speech and language evaluations for referred students.
- Provide observational data regarding speech and language behaviors for students in classroom and therapy situations.
- Review components of individual student speech and language programming in the classroom and therapy situations. IEP Team Responsibilities
- Assist in gathering speech and language assessment/observational data.
- Participate in staffing to determine speech and language disability and need for speech and language therapy.
- Completion of high-quality IEP Team Evaluation Reports within all expected timelines and state requirements.
- Determine frequency, nature and type of therapy needed.
- Participate in the development of IEP needs and goals in the area of speech and language. Instructional Strategies
- Assume responsibility for the speech and language portions of IEP as indicated.
- Plan and provide for therapy.
- Update IEPs annually and on an as needed basis.
- Maintain progress records and quarterly progress reports.
- Involve parents in home speech and language program as needed.
- Consult and communicate with classroom teacher regarding carryover activities.
