A Speech Language Pathologist diagnoses and treats speech, language, and swallowing disorders in patients with a variety of conditions. Helps patients improve their ability to make sounds or use language, or develop non-spoken means of communication. May specialize in working with patients of a certain age group, or treat speech problems resulting from a condition such as a stroke or cleft palate. Works in schools, hospitals and other healthcare facilities and works closely with physicians, psychologists, social workers, and other therapists.

Qualifications:

Active SLP license and Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC) required Experience working in school settings, preferably with elementary-aged students Strong communication skills and a collaborative mindset Ability to develop and implement individualized education programs (IEPs) Commitment to fostering an inclusive and supportive learning environment Organizational skills to manage caseloads and documentation efficiently

Responsibilities:

Assess and diagnose speech, language, and communication disorders in elementary students Create and deliver individual or group therapy sessions tailored to students' needs Collaborate closely with teachers, parents, and other educational staff Monitor student progress and adjust interventions as necessary Maintain accurate and timely documentation for compliance purposes Participate in IEP meetings, sharing insights and recommendations for student success Support a positive classroom climate and help students reach their full potential
