Start Date:
Immediate Opening Position Summary Tiverton Public Schools is seeking a qualified and compassionate Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) to provide speech and language services to student receiving homebound medical instruction. The successful candidate will support student with communication needs through individualized, evidence-based interventions designed to promote progress toward IEP goals and continued access to educational programming. Essential Responsibilities
  • Provide direct speech-language therapy services to student receiving homebound instruction.
  • Conduct speech and language evaluations and reassessments as required.
  • Develop, implement, and monitor individualized treatment plans aligned with IEP goals.
  • Collaborate with family, educators, related service providers, and medical professionals to support student success.
  • Maintain accurate documentation, service logs, progress reports, and Medicaid billing documentation as applicable.
  • Participate in IEP Team meetings and provide recommendations regarding speech-language needs and services.
  • Consult with family and educational staff regarding communication strategies and supports.
  • Ensure compliance with IDEA, Rhode Island Department of Education regulations, and district procedures. Qualifications
  • Master's Degree in Speech-Language Pathology.
  • Current Rhode Island licensure as a Speech-Language Pathologist.
  • Experience working with children with complex disabilities.
  • Knowledge of special education regulations, evaluation procedures, and IEP development.
  • Strong communication, collaboration, and organizational skills.
