Aug 25, 2026 Job Description Job Description To enable students who require Speech and Language support to derive the fullest educational experience from school by identifying individual needs related to speech, language, articulation, expression and understanding as it relates to the students learning and the development of peer and social relationships.
QUALIFICATIONS
1.A Master's Degree earned from an accredited educational institution 2.A valid certificate to practice as a School SLP in the State of Rhode Island
JOB DESCRIPTION
1.Conduct speech/language evaluations to assess articulation skills, receptive and expressive language levels 2.Prepare interpretive reports from speech/language assessment in a style that is lucid to parents, guardians and other concerned professionals 3.Confer directly with administrators, teachers, parents, guardians and students regarding his/her findings and offer appropriate recommendations to benefit a student referred to him/her for a speech/language evaluation 4.Provide individual and/or group therapy sessions to students in his/her assigned buildings 5.Participate actively in weekly case evaluation team conferences and offer constructive suggestions for assisting referred students 6.Contact and cooperate with personnel of medical and community based agencies seeking services for the welfare of referred students 7.Conduct periodic re-evaluation of students as needed/requested or required by regulation 8.Attend scheduled staff meetings and committee meetings as needed 9.Interpret the school speech and language services to teachers and parents/guardians 10.Assist in developing and writing individualized educational programs (IEP) as part of a core evaluation team for students Equal Opportunity Employer Job Requirements 1.A Master's Degree earned from an accredited educational institution 2.A valid certificate to practice as a School SLP in the State of Rhode IslandTo support Tiverton's commitment to diversity and to foster inclusion, respect, and equity in education, the successful candidate will be selected from a diverse pool of candidates.
