Job Description

Job Requirements A part of the Spartanburg Regional Healthcare System (SRHS) and ranked in the top 5 hospitals in the state by US News and World Report in 2025, Spartanburg Medical Center (SMC) is a research and teaching, Level I Trauma Center, and Baby-Friendly® hospital with two locations in the upstate of South Carolina. SMC offers an array of services including Maternal-Fetal Medicine, Critical Care, Breast Health, Cancer, and Children's Health. Pediatric Rehabilitation Services is located at the SMC-Church Street (SMC-CS) campus. It offers inpatient and outpatient PT, OT, and SLP services to individuals from birth to 21 years of age. Equine Assisted Therapy and Aquatics are offered at alternate locations. The ideal candidate must demonstrate our system's core values of compassion, collaboration, accountability, integrity, respect, and stewardship. They must display a positive attitude and energy, a readiness to learn and serve, flexibility, a willingness to engage in teamwork, and solid administrative skills. A background or experience in pediatrics is preferred. Position Summary The Speech-Language Pathologist evaluates and treats patients by referral. He/she plans treatment programs and performs therapy to restore function, prevent disability, and maximize the potential and quality of life following disease, injury or surgery. He/she performs re-evaluations and supervisory visits per state practice act. He/she appropriately modifies treatment plans and procedures and uses appropriate communication techniques to achieve optimal results. He/she may supervise Rehab Techs and students. He/she participates in community presentations, staff education, and other departmental activities as requested by the supervisor, manager or director. Minimum Requirements Education MS/MA in Speech Language-Pathology License/Registration/Certifications
CPR-AHA BLS SC SLP
License/ Certificate of Clinical Competence or CFY Preferred Requirements Preferred Experience One to five (1-5) years clinical experience
