In this vital role, you will provide exceptional speech therapy services to children and students across various settings, including schools, clinics, and acute care environments. Your expertise will help improve communication skills, support early intervention efforts, and enhance the overall well-being of our pediatric clients. Duties Assist licensed speech-language pathologists in delivering comprehensive speech therapy assessments and interventions for children and students. Implement individualized treatment plans aligned with IEP (Individualized Education Program) goals to support communication development. Work directly with children in various settings, including schools, clinics, or acute care units, ensuring tailored therapy approaches for each client. Monitor and document progress regularly, adjusting therapy techniques as needed to maximize outcomes. Collaborate with educators, caregivers, and healthcare professionals to coordinate care plans and ensure consistency across environments. Maintain accurate medical and therapy records, including session notes, progress reports, and compliance documentation. Support early intervention programs by engaging with young children to promote foundational speech and language skills. Experience Prior experience working with children in pediatric or school-based settings is highly preferred. Knowledge of speech therapy techniques specific to pediatrics and early intervention is essential. Familiarity with acute care environments and the unique needs of patients in these settings is a plus. Understanding of physiology, anatomy related to speech and swallowing functions, and medical terminology enhances effectiveness in this role. Experience working with students who have diverse communication needs and implementing IEP goals is advantageous. Strong interpersonal skills for working collaboratively with children, families, educators, and healthcare teams are required.
