A Speech Language Pathologist diagnoses and treats speech, language, and swallowing disorders in patients with a variety of conditions. Helps patients improve their ability to make sounds or use language, or develop non-spoken means of communication. May specialize in working with patients of a certain age group, or treat speech problems resulting from a condition such as a stroke or cleft palate. Works in schools, hospitals and other healthcare facilities and works closely with physicians, psychologists, social workers, and other therapists.

Job Description

Degree in Speech-Language Pathology, active SLP license and 1+ year of Speech-Language Pathology experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered. Qualifications:

Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited program Current Certificate of Clinical Competence in Speech-Language Pathology (CCC-SLP) Active licensure as required by the state board Previous experience providing speech-language services in a K-12 environment is strongly preferred Proficiency in developing individualized education programs (IEPs) and using relevant documentation systems Strong communication and interpersonal skills Ability to collaborate effectively with educational teams and families

Responsibilities:

Conduct comprehensive speech and language evaluations to guide individualized treatment plans Deliver direct therapy and consultation services to students, both individually and in groups Document progress, maintain detailed records, and participate in IEP meetings Serve as a knowledgeable resource on speech and language issues for teachers, staff, and families Assist with student transitions and support inclusive practices within classrooms Adapt strategies to best support students' unique needs and learning styles
