Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP)

Galveston, TX Pay:
$48-$55/hour Galveston Nursing & Rehabilitation is hiring a Speech-Language Pathologist to support a therapy program focused on communication, cognition, and safe swallowing—key elements that directly impact a resident's health, independence, and quality of life. In this role, your clinical expertise helps residents regain their ability to communicate effectively, safely manage swallowing, and engage meaningfully in their daily environment. Your impact as an
SLP:
Evaluating and treating residents with dysphagia to support safe nutrition and hydration Helping residents regain communication skills following illness, stroke, or cognitive decline Supporting cognitive function to improve safety, awareness, and daily decision-making Recommending strategies that allow residents to participate more fully in daily life Playing a critical role in care planning, safety, and overall quality of life What the work feels like here: A focus on dysphagia management, cognitive therapy, and communication The ability to follow residents over time and see meaningful clinical progress Ongoing collaboration with nursing, dietary, and the interdisciplinary team A therapy team that stays aligned and supports consistent care delivery What you'll be doing: Completing evaluations and developing individualized plans of care Treating residents with speech, language, cognitive, and swallowing needs Monitoring progress and adjusting treatment approaches as needed Providing education to residents, families, and staff Maintaining timely and accurate documentation What we're looking for: Active Texas SLP license CCC-SLP preferred Skilled nursing or post-acute experience preferred Strong clinical judgment and ability to work independently Someone reliable and comfortable working within a team Learn more about us: www.galvestonnursing.com We are proud to be an EOE.
