A Speech Language Pathologist diagnoses and treats speech, language, and swallowing disorders in patients with a variety of conditions. Helps patients improve their ability to make sounds or use language, or develop non-spoken means of communication. May specialize in working with patients of a certain age group, or treat speech problems resulting from a condition such as a stroke or cleft palate. Works in schools, hospitals and other healthcare facilities and works closely with physicians, psychologists, social workers, and other therapists.

Job Description

Speech Language Pathologists at Ashton Medical Lodge evaluate resident swallowing function and manage speech-language treatments across our 144-bed long-term care facility. You will work alongside our therapy team to design care plans and maintain daily documentation. The daily focus stays on direct resident care, practical treatment adjustments, and direct communication with nursing staff. Responsibilities Conduct swallowing evaluations and speech-language assessments for facility residents. Create individualized care plans based on objective clinical assessments. Document daily therapy notes and progress reports within facility timeframes. Coordinate with occupational therapists and nursing staff regarding resident progress. Adjust therapy interventions to match resident progress and clinical needs.
Compensation, Schedule & Benefits Pay Rate:
Starting at 50-55/hr based on experience, scaling up to $65/hr
Schedule:
PRN, approximately 15-20 hours per week (Monday-Friday preferred, with weekend flexibility)

Qualifications & Requirements Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited program Active Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) license in the State of Texas Must pass a standard criminal background check Must pass a drug screening Reliable transportation for dependable attendance Ready to Join Our Team?
