Waco, TX, hospital setting Start date: 05/25/2026 Responsibilities Conduct assessments of speech, language, voice, fluency, cognition, and swallowing as indicated, documenting findings in the patient record. Develop and implement individualized treatment plans aligned with physician orders and evidence-based practice. Provide direct therapy to patients across the hospital setting and educate patients and families on strategies to support communication and safe swallowing. Monitor progress, adjust goals as needed, and communicate changes to the multidisciplinary care team. Collaborate with physicians, nurses, therapists, and social work to coordinate care, discharge planning, and referrals (e.g., AAC devices) when appropriate. Ensure accurate, timely documentation and compliance with hospital policies and regulatory requirements. Requirements Active Texas state license as Speech-Language Pathologist or eligible for licensure in Texas. Certificate of Clinical Competence in Speech-Language Pathology (CCC-SLP) or eligible. Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology. Minimum 1 year of clinical experience in a medical/hospital setting preferred. Ability to work in a hospital environment; available for a Monday-Friday schedule on this 13-week assignment. Strong communication and teamwork skills; ability to collaborate with a multidisciplinary team.
