In this role, you will assess, diagnose, and treat individuals with speech, language, communication, and swallowing disorders. You will work closely with patients of all ages. Your expertise will play a crucial role in enhancing the quality of life for our patients through tailored therapy plans. Responsibilities Conduct comprehensive patient assessments to evaluate speech and language abilities. Develop individualized treatment plans based on assessment results and patient needs. Implement effective speech therapy interventions to improve communication skills. Collaborate with educators and other healthcare professionals to support patient care in school settings. Provide guidance and support to families regarding speech development and intervention strategies. Maintain accurate documentation of patient progress and treatment outcomes. Stay updated on current research and best practices in speech-language pathology. Educate patients and their families about anatomy knowledge related to speech and swallowing. Requirements Master's degree or doctorate in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited college or university.
Licensure/Certification:
Current driver's license in good standing. The employee is responsible for renewing their driver's license before it expires to continue employment. Reliable transportation and auto liability insurance. Current State professional license that is in good standing to practice as an SLP in any/all applicable states. Current CPR certificate.
Physical Requirements:
Prolonged standing/walking is required. The ability to lift/transfer up to 50 lbs. Ability to meet deadlines and patient needs, make quick decisions, and allocate resources under stressful conditions. Meet patient/family individualized psychosocial needs. Requires hand-eye coordination and manual dexterity.
Environmental/Working Conditions:
Works in clients' homes in various conditions. Possible exposure to blood-borne pathogens, bodily fluids, and infectious diseases. Some exposure to unpleasant weather; PRN emergency call. Ability to travel locally and work a flexible schedule.
