School Speech Language Pathologist - Chester, Virginia Sunbelt Staffing - 3.8 Chester, VA Job Details Contract Qualifications Bachelor's degree Full Job Description Step into a dynamic school-based contract role supporting children's communication and learning near Chester, VA. This opportunity is tailor-made for Speech-Language Pathology Assistants (SLPA) eager to make a difference within an elementary setting. Work alongside a supervising SLP to provide meaningful therapy and support services to K-5 students, all while receiving supervision and guidance to help you grow in your career. Your primary location will be Ettrick Elementary, ensuring stability and a cohesive work environment with the potential for itinerant assignments. The academic year runs from August 17, 2024, to May 30, 2025, with a commitment of up to 37.5 hours each week. You'll play a key role in supporting students in both direct therapy and assessment assistance as part of a dedicated educational team.

Key Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in Speech Communication or a related field (required) Valid SLPA license (or eligibility) for Virginia Previous pediatric or school-based experience strongly preferred Strong communication, collaboration, and organizational skills Commitment to maintaining accurate records and supporting IEP processes

Daily Responsibilities:

Deliver direct therapy services to elementary-aged students under SLP supervision Assist with speech/language assessments and documentation Participate in IEP meetings and collaborate with staff and families Support administrative tasks as needed within contracted hours Engage in ongoing professional development and district training You'll be compensated for all hours worked as outlined in your contract and benefit from paid team collaboration time.
