Job Description

Job Overview We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Pediatric Speech-Language Pathologist to join our small, rural pediatric clinic on the Eastern Shore of Virginia. In this vital role, you will assess, diagnose, and treat communication and swallowing disorders in pediatric patients, helping children achieve their full potential. This position offers an exciting opportunity to make a meaningful difference in the lives of children and their families through compassionate patient care and innovative therapy techniques. Responsibilities Conduct comprehensive patient assessments to evaluate speech, language, voice, fluency, and swallowing functions in pediatric populations. Develop individualized treatment plans tailored to each child's specific needs, incorporating evidence-based therapy strategies. Deliver engaging speech therapy sessions focused on improving communication skills, social interaction, and feeding abilities. Collaborate closely with families, caregivers, teachers, and multidisciplinary teams to ensure consistent support and progress tracking. Monitor patient progress regularly, adjusting therapy approaches as needed to maximize outcomes. Maintain accurate documentation of assessments, treatment plans, session notes, and progress reports in compliance with healthcare regulations. Stay current with advancements in pediatrics, physiology, anatomy knowledge, and medical terminology to enhance patient care quality. Experience Prior experience working with pediatric patients in clinical or school settings is highly preferred. Strong understanding of speech therapy techniques specific to pediatrics and developmental milestones. Knowledge of physiology and anatomy related to speech production and swallowing processes. Familiarity with patient assessment tools and medical terminology relevant to pediatric care. Excellent communication skills for engaging children effectively while collaborating with families and team members. Pay:
$75,000.00 - $85,000.00 per year
