A Speech Language Pathologist diagnoses and treats speech, language, and swallowing disorders in patients with a variety of conditions. May specialize in working with patients of a certain age group, or treat speech problems resulting from a condition such as a stroke or cleft palate. Works in schools, hospitals and other healthcare facilities and works closely with physicians, psychologists, social workers, and other therapists.

Job Description

Step into a rewarding role providing crucial speech-language support to elementary students in a dynamic educational setting. This full-time, onsite opportunity covers a maternity leave assignment from mid-November through late January, focusing on a diverse group of learners, including those in resource and specialized programs for moderate disabilities. You'll work directly with approximately 50 students, creating individualized plans to empower them with effective communication skills. Collaboration with teachers, special educators, and families will be key as you deliver evidence-based speech and language interventions within a supportive school environment.

Qualifications & Experience:

Current Washington SLP License and ESA certification required Certificate of Clinical Competence in Speech-Language Pathology (CCC-SLP) Previous experience in a school setting, particularly with elementary students and moderate disabilities, highly preferred Strong knowledge of IEP and IDEA compliance Proficient with progress monitoring and documentation Excellent communication and interpersonal skills Flexibility, adaptability, and the ability to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team
