A Speech Language Pathologist diagnoses and treats speech, language, and swallowing disorders in patients with a variety of conditions. Helps patients improve their ability to make sounds or use language, or develop non-spoken means of communication. May specialize in working with patients of a certain age group, or treat speech problems resulting from a condition such as a stroke or cleft palate. Works in schools, hospitals and other healthcare facilities and works closely with physicians, psychologists, social workers, and other therapists.
Speech and Language Pathologist (Grades PK-12) The Tomah Area School District is accepting applications for a full-time or part time Speech and Language Pathologist to serve students. The Tomah Area School District is seeking an innovative Speech and Language Pathologist who can work collaboratively with a team of Speech and Language Pathologists, develop positive relationships with students and parents, and build partnerships with the community. This position requires a dynamic and progressive pathologist who has a background in sign language, AAC and PECS and is able to write effective IEP's and behavior plans. This is a full-time or part-time position beginning in the 2026-2027 school year. Co-curricular coaching and advisor positions are available.
Qualifications:
Must have, or must receive prior to the first day of work, appropriate licensure for the position as determined by state law and the District.
