We are looking for a PRN Speech Language Pathologist (SLP) to join our healthcare team, working daytime hours at Logan Regional Medical Center! Logan Regional Medical Center is a 132-bed acute care facility, we offer a full range of healthcare services that include: Da Vinci Robotic-Assisted Surgery; an expanded Endoscopy Unit; Cardiac Rehab; 24-hour Emergency Care; an Intensive Care Unit; Inpatient and Outpatient Surgery; Laparoscopic Surgery; 3D Mammography; MRIs; Nutrition Counseling; Physical Therapy; Radiology; an Inpatient Rehab Center; Respiratory Therapy; a Sleep Disorders Center; Speech Therapy; Respiratory Therapy; Ultrasound; Women's Services; and ongoing community education. 20 Hospital Dr, Logan, WV 25601 Job Summary The Speech Language Pathologist (SLP) is responsible for evaluating patients, developing and implementing treatment plans, and providing therapeutic interventions for individuals with communication, cognitive-linguistic, and swallowing disorders. The SLP maintains accurate and timely documentation, collaborates with interdisciplinary teams, and supports patient and family education to promote optimal functional independence and patient-centered outcomes. Essential Functions Conduct evaluations and assessments appropriate to age and diagnosis, including developmental, cognitive, speech, language, voice, fluency, and swallowing disorders. Develop individualized treatment plans and measurable goals in collaboration with the patient, caregivers, and interdisciplinary team. Implement evidence-based therapeutic interventions in a timely and appropriate manner. Reassess patient condition and update treatment goals and plans as needed. Provide patient and family education and counseling related to speech-language and swallowing needs. Accurately document treatment sessions, assessments, progress, and discharge plans. Coordinate care with physicians, nurses, therapists, and support staff to ensure consistent and effective rehabilitation plans. Participate in interdisciplinary team meetings, care planning, and quality improvement initiatives. Supervise clinical fellows, students, and other support personnel as applicable. Ensure compliance with professional standards, regulatory requirements, and facility policies. Knowledge/Skills/Abilities/Expectations Strong knowledge of anatomy, physiology, and pathology related to speech, language, and swallowing. Proficient in the use of assessment tools, therapy materials, and documentation systems. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Ability to function independently and collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team. Strong organizational, prioritization, and time management skills. Familiarity with ASHA and state practice standards. Education Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology required Completion of a Clinical Fellowship Year (CFY) required. Licenses/Certifications Current licensure to practice as a Speech Language Pathologist in applicable state Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required within time frame required by facility policy Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC) from ASHA preferred VitalStim certification preferred. Experience One (1) year of experience in a rehabilitation or acute care setting preferred.
