Job Description

Category Schools - SLPA Job Type Contract A rewarding contract opportunity is available for a skilled Speech-Language Pathology Assistant (SLPA) to support students at the elementary level. The successful candidate will work closely with approximately 35 students who receive Speech and Language services, with therapy provided either individually or in small groups based on individual needs and goal areas. Partnering with a dedicated Speech-Language Pathologist, the SLPA will implement direct services, foster collaboration with educational staff, and ensure accurate and timely documentation.
Key Qualifications and Experience:
Valid SLPA license or eligibility to practice in a school setting Experience delivering therapeutic interventions to elementary-aged children preferred Strong understanding of speech and language development and related disorders Ability to work collaboratively with teachers, staff, and families to support student growth Excellent written and verbal communication skills for documentation and progress updates Detail-oriented and organized, especially in maintaining clear student records
Core Responsibilities:
Provide direct speech and language therapy to students individually or in small group settings Monitor and document student progress, maintaining thorough records and progress notes Collaborate regularly with the supervising Speech-Language Pathologist on student needs and outcomes Participate in planning and support for classroom activities related to speech/language objectives Work with teachers and staff to implement strategies and reinforce speech-language goals in classroom settings Maintain confidentiality and adhere to all school policies and professional standards This is a full-time, 40-hours-per-week contract position, with a schedule from 7:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., Monday through Friday.
