Job Description

Category Schools - SLPA Job Type Contract Step into an impactful contract opportunity supporting students for a 3-4 month maternity leave in a dynamic school environment. This rewarding position is ideal for a Speech-Language Pathology Assistant (SLPA) or a Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) eager to make a difference in the lives of children. The assignment begins in August and spans the start of the new school year, offering valuable hands-on experience collaborating with educators and supporting students' communication growth.
Key Qualifications:
Valid licensure or certification as an SLPA or SLP Previous experience in a school setting is highly preferred Strong ability to connect with school-aged children and foster a supportive learning environment Excellent collaboration skills to work with educators, parents, and multidisciplinary teams Reliable, adaptable, and able to commit to the entire contract duration
Primary Responsibilities:
Deliver speech and language therapy services to students under the direction of a supervising SLP, or independently if SLP-credentialed Assist with implementing individualized education plans (IEPs) and contribute to IEP meetings, as appropriate Conduct therapy sessions tailored to each student's unique needs and goals Maintain accurate and timely documentation on student progress Partner with teachers and staff to support students' communication success within the classroom setting This contract role near the Palo Alto and Fremont areas allows you to contribute meaningfully during a critical temporary leave period and gain valuable experience in school-based therapy.
