Job Description

Category Schools - SLPA Job Type Contract Empower young learners with your expertise as a Speech-Language Pathology Assistant in a vibrant, TK-12 district dedicated to student growth and communication. This contract role focuses on providing essential support at the elementary level, specifically with students in transitional kindergarten through fifth grade. You'll manage a caseload of approximately 60 students with a range of needs—from general education speech support to more moderate or severe disabilities. Your day-to-day will include direct speech therapy services, participation in IEP meetings, and conducting thorough assessments and evaluations. All your work will be carried out at a supportive and collaborative elementary school site within a district serving around 3,650 students.
Qualifications:
Active SLPA license required (SLPA credential mandatory; CTC credential preferred but not required) Experience working with elementary-aged students is highly valued Strong understanding of a broad spectrum of speech and language disabilities Ability to provide direct services, complete IEP documentation, and perform assessments/evaluations Excellent interpersonal skills to collaborate with teachers, staff, and families
Responsibilities:
Deliver direct speech-language services to a diverse caseload averaging 60 elementary students Document progress and participate in IEP meetings Conduct screenings, evaluations, and assessments for students with varying levels of need Communicate regularly with parents, teachers, and multidisciplinary teams to support student outcomes Maintain thorough records and meet all procedural timelines Enjoy the consistency of 37.5 contracted hours per week and experience a school year filled with rewarding challenges and professional growth.
