at Amergis in Newark, Delaware, United States Job Description Speech-Language Pathology Assistant ( SLPA ) - School Setting Position Overview We are seeking dedicated and compassionate Speech-Language Pathology Assistants (SLPAs) to join our school-based team for the upcoming academic year. Under the supervision of a licensed Speech-Language Pathologist ( SLP ), the SLPA will assist in providing speech and language services to students. Responsibilities include supporting therapy implementation, documentation, educational activities, and treatment-related tasks while working within the established plan of care and professional scope of practice. Key Responsibilities + Implement speech and language treatment plans developed by the supervising Speech-Language Pathologist. + Assist with individual and group therapy sessions. + Document student progress and maintain accurate treatment records. + Support educational and communication development goals. + Collaborate with teachers, families, and multidisciplinary team members as appropriate. + Follow all state, federal, and professional practice standards. + Perform duties as assigned by the supervising Speech-Language Pathologist and/or physician. + Transition Program (ages 18-22) + Early Childhood/Preschool Programs Minimum Qualifications + Graduate of a Speech-Language Pathology Assistant program with an associate degree, OR + Bachelor's degree in Speech-Language Pathology, Communication Disorders, or a related field. + Successful completion of at least 100 hours of supervised fieldwork or equivalent clinical experience as required by state regulations. + Current Speech-Language Pathology Assistant certification or licensure in the state of practice. + Knowledge of and compliance with all applicable professional standards of practice. + Minimum of one (1) year of professional SLPA experience preferred. + Current health clearance, TB screening, and any additional requirements mandated by state regulations or contract. + Must meet all federal, state, and local employment requirements. + Must be at least 18 years of age.
