School-Based Speech Pathology Assistant | Joliet, Illinois Joliet, IL Job Details $28.34 - $48.34 an hour 4 days ago Qualifications Bachelor's degree Full Job Description Bachelor's degree from an ASHA-accredited university, active Speech-Language Pathology Assistant (SLPA) license and minimum 1+ years speech-language pathology experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered. A contract opportunity is available for a Speech-Language Pathologist Assistant (SLPA) or Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) with CFY or CCC credentials, supporting K-6 students in a school setting in Joliet, IL. This role is ideal for professionals seeking hands-on experience working with young learners in a structured educational environment.
Responsibilities:
Deliver speech and language therapy services to students from kindergarten through 6th grade. Collaborate with teachers and school staff to support student communication goals. Manage a caseload currently serving 22 students across five classrooms, with a maximum of six students per room. Maintain thorough documentation and progress notes in compliance with school policies. Participate in team meetings and contribute to individualized education program (IEP) planning. Support Extended School Year (ESY) programming during June.Qualifications:
Valid SLPA certification or Speech-Language Pathologist credential (CFY or CCC). Experience working with school-aged children preferred. Strong interpersonal and communication skills. Ability to adapt therapy techniques to meet diverse student needs. Commitment to maintaining confidentiality and professional standards in a school environment.Schedule & Location:

Monday to Friday, 8:00 AM to 3:30 PM. ESY hours (June 1 - June 29): Monday to Friday, 8:00 AM to 2:30 PM. School year ends May 29th; next school year starts August 13th.
