Job Description

Category Schools - SLPA Job Type Contract This position offers an exciting opportunity for a Speech-Language Pathology Assistant (SLPA) or Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) in their Clinical Fellowship Year (CFY) or with Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC) credentials to support students in a school setting. The role is based in Plainfield, IL, and is a contract position designed for professionals passionate about making a difference in young learners' communication skills.
Scheduled Hours:
Onsite work from 8:00 AM to 3:30 PM, Monday through Friday during the school year Extended School Year (ESY) hours from 8:00 AM to 2:30 PM, Monday through Friday in June School year concludes on May 29th ESY programming runs from June 1 to June 29 The following school year begins August 13th
Caseload and Students:
Serving students from kindergarten through 6th grade Currently managing five classrooms, each with a maximum of six students Present enrollment is 22 students with potential for two additional students before year end
Responsibilities:
Deliver speech and language therapy services tailored to K-6 student needs Collaborate with educators and staff to implement effective communication strategies Maintain accurate and timely documentation of student progress Assist with assessments and treatment plans under the supervision of licensed SLPs (for SLPA roles) Participate in ESY programming to continue student support during summer sessions
Qualifications:
Valid SLPA certification, or SLP credentials including CFY or CCC Experience working with pediatric populations in educational settings preferred Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work collaboratively with school teams Commitment to supporting students' communication development and educational success
