The District is seeking a full time Speech-Language Pathology Assistant to join our Team of SLPs and SLPs!In accordance with the policy and procedures of Beverly Public Schools, the Speech/Language Pathology Assistant will work under the supervision of a licensed Speech/Language Pathologist to provide speech and language services to students in one-to-one sessions, small group sessions or within the classroom setting. The preferred candidate will have experience working with various student populations, a willingness to participate in on-going training, and an ability to communicate effectively. As a member of an educational team, this candidate will provide consultation and training to the classroom staff for inclusion of these therapeutic techniques into the educational process. This position may require travel between schools or placement at multiple schools.
General Speech/Language Pathology Assistant Responsibilities Include:
Assist with the management of maximizing student's expressive and receptive language and communication skills Provide therapy to students on an individual, small group and classroom session Support the speech/language pathologist in developing & implementing speech and language supports and services Support expressive, receptive, oral, written language, and pragmatic language needs Create and maintain students' communication aids, teaching materials for therapy sessions and classroom use Track student progress through weekly data collection. Assist in development of IEP goals. Write progress reports based on IEP goals. Use of adaptive technology used with AAC Use and production of materials including Picture Exchange Communication System, Board Maker, Mayer Johnson Maintain and organize therapy areas and supplies• Maintain clinical notes Work in conjunction with an educationally based multidisciplinary team Complete needed paper work and job related functions in a timely manner Meet with other professionals to discuss individual students' needs and progress Routinely attend district and school based meetings, training and professional development Comply with existing laws and professional ethics Other duties as requested by Administrator of Special Education and Pupil Personnel Services or designated administratorsSimilar remote jobs
