Category Schools - SLPA Job Type Contract Step into an exciting contract opportunity supporting students' communication skills as a Speech-Language Pathology Assistant (SLPA) in a dynamic school setting near Bowie, MD. Utilize your expertise to work alongside experienced Speech-Language Pathologists and make a direct impact on students of all ages. This role offers the flexibility of working with various caseloads, providing diversity and professional growth throughout your assignment.
Qualifications & Experience:
Current, active SLPA license issued by the state of Maryland Previous experience in a school environment preferred but not required Strong collaboration and communication skills to work effectively with supervising SLPs, educators, and families Passion for helping students across early childhood, elementary, middle, and high school levels Adaptability to manage different age groups and caseload complexities
Key Responsibilities:
Assist in delivering individualized and group speech therapy services as directed by the supervising SLP Support the development and implementation of therapy plans tailored to student needs across various age ranges Contribute to progress monitoring by keeping thorough records and documenting student achievements Collaborate with teachers and staff to integrate communication strategies within the classroom Engage with families and guardians, providing updates and support to encourage students' speech and language development
