Job Description

Category Schools - SLPA Job Type Contract Step into a dynamic, in-person position supporting high school students in a day treatment program for the full academic year. This contract opportunity centers around working closely with a caseload of approximately 20 students, each presenting a wide range of communication abilities. Your expertise as a Speech-Language Pathology Assistant (SLPA) with hands-on AAC (Augmentative and Alternative Communication) experience will be instrumental in helping students find their voice and thrive in a supportive educational setting.
Key Qualifications:
Valid SLPA licensure for school-based practice Demonstrated experience incorporating AAC devices and strategies Previous work with school-aged populations, preferably high school students Strong communication and teamwork skills with educational staff and families Ability to maintain thorough documentation and progress tracking
Primary Responsibilities:
Deliver direct therapy and support for students with diverse communication needs, under the supervision of a licensed SLP Integrate AAC solutions tailored to individual students Collaborate with teachers, counselors, and related service providers to maximize student outcomes Adjust and adapt therapy materials and techniques according to each student's goals Participate in team meetings, IEP development, and ongoing student assessments This is a full-time assignment set within a collaborative, student-centered environment.
