Job Description
Arbor Autism Centers is a multidisciplinary private practice specializing in care for individuals with autism. We are seeking a dedicated, compassionate, hardworking, and flexible intern to join our team! This is a full-time, 40-hour per week commitment. It is built specifically for those taking a gap year between undergraduate and graduate school (not a summer or student internship). Interns are provided with the opportunity to gain valuable, real-world experience within SLP, OT, and ABA fields. Job Responsibilities/Highlights Gain hands-on experience working with children with autism while practicing various therapy interventions and techniques Assist in preparing materials and arranging therapy spaces as assigned by therapy staff Help to develop creative ideas to target speech, language, and occupational therapy goals Practice effectively communicating with families as they are actively involved in sessions Gain experience collecting data and reading notes for SLP, OT, and ABA disciplines Opportunities to observe autism (ADOS) evaluations, as well as speech, language, and OT evaluations What Makes Us Unique Monthly field trips to community locations to generalize skills to the community Parent involvement in therapy as appropriate to generalize skills to home environments Team-based approach with ongoing collaboration among SLP, OT, and ABA disciplines to ensure consistency of care Leadership and program development opportunities to incorporate your interests into treatment Desired Qualities Intent to pursue a career in pediatric autism therapies Prior experience in pediatric care Basic computer skills and familiarity with Microsoft applications Fully up to date on all vaccinations, including COVID boosters Learn More About Us At Arbor Autism Centers, we are passionate about providing autism therapies and family education within a collaborative environment.
