Job Description
Overview Join our dynamic healthcare team as a Speech-Language Pathologist Assistant, where you will play a vital role in supporting speech therapy services across diverse settings. This paid position offers an exciting opportunity to work closely with licensed speech-language pathologists, children, and students to enhance communication skills and improve quality of life. You will be instrumental in delivering targeted interventions, assisting with assessments, and implementing therapy plans that foster meaningful progress. Responsibilities Support licensed speech-language pathologists in delivering speech therapy interventions to children and students in various environments such as schools, clinics, or acute care settings Assist with the implementation of individualized education plans (IEPs) and early intervention programs tailored to each child's needs Conduct routine therapy activities under supervision, including exercises targeting speech, language, voice, and swallowing functions Monitor and document client progress accurately, maintaining detailed records of therapy sessions and outcomes Collaborate with educators, caregivers, and medical teams to ensure cohesive support for clients' communication goals Prepare therapy materials and assist in setting up equipment necessary for sessions Maintain a safe and supportive environment that encourages active participation and confidence-building Qualifications Prior experience working with children or students in educational or clinical settings is highly desirable Knowledge of pediatric development, physiology related to speech and swallowing, and anatomy fundamentals Familiarity with medical terminology relevant to speech-language pathology and acute care environments Understanding of early intervention strategies and the importance of IEP processes in school-based therapy Strong communication skills to effectively collaborate with multidisciplinary teams and families Ability to follow detailed instructions while demonstrating initiative in supporting therapy plans Certification or licensure as a Speech-Language Pathologist Assistant (or equivalent) is preferred but not mandatory; relevant coursework or training in speech therapy is advantageous Embark on a rewarding career journey where your dedication directly contributes to empowering individuals through improved communication.
