Job Description
Category Schools - SLPA Job Type Contract Step into a dynamic educational setting as a Speech Language Pathology Assistant, supporting students' communication needs for the 2026-2027 school year. This contract opportunity—based on-site near Durham, NC—offers the chance to work collaboratively within a school environment, making a significant impact on student development from August 24, 2026, through June 9, 2027. The ideal candidate will help deliver therapeutic services under the guidance of a licensed Speech-Language Pathologist, ensuring individualized support for students across a range of ages. This role provides the rewarding experience of contributing to students' success, utilizing innovative approaches and best practices in speech and language therapy. The exact schools and caseload will be determined after hiring, and all necessary support for onboarding and supervision will be provided.
Desired Qualifications and Experience:
Registration with the North Carolina speech board, or eligibility for full registration (temporary SLPA registration previously obtained is acceptable) Previous experience working in a school setting, performing therapy, and documenting student progress Proficiency using Google Drive and Microsoft Office for paperwork and communication Ability to collaborate effectively with students, supervisors, and school staff Professional, flexible demeanor and a passion for enriching student livesExpected Responsibilities:
Deliver direct therapy services to students as outlined in Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) Maintain timely and accurate service documentation and progress notes Communicate regularly with supervising SLPs and school stakeholders Follow all district and regulatory protocols related to therapy delivery Adjust support based on student needs, as directed by the supervisor Interviews are scheduled for mid-May, so applicants are encouraged to submit their interest promptly to be considered for this rewarding, full-time position.
