08/06/2026 Speech-Language Pathology Assistant Position Purpose Works under the supervision of a a certified Speech Pathologist to help students with communication disorders. Provides direct therapy, conducts screening and assists in therapy plans.
Essential Job Functions:
1. Assist in the identification and initial referral of Speech Language Impaired children. Performs Speech Language assessments. 2. Assists students with exercises and activities to develop oral motor skills. 3. Makes recommendations for intervention. Attends categorical eligibility meetings, which involves presentation of evaluation results. 4. Consults and instructs school personnel and parents in the therapeutic management of students. 5. Consults with physicians, hospitals, and other medical personnel regarding the needs of speech language impaired children. 6. Maintains confidential records. Provides documentation of progress and prepares evaluations. 7. Provides formal/informal in-service to administrators, parents and teachers. 8. Travels to the various sites to provide services. 9. Attends necessary workshops and continuing education to maintain certification. 12. Assists in writing and implementing IEPs. 13. Performs other related duties as assigned by the principal.
