Job Description

Black Hills Special Services Cooperative is seeking a Speech-Language Pathology Assistant (SLPA) Hot Springs School District for the 2026-2027 school year to support students in developing communication and language skills. This role works under the supervision of a licensed Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) to implement therapy plans and enhance student outcomes across educational settings. Black Hills Special Services Cooperative (BHSSC) is a public entity that is an educational cooperative under the State of South Dakota. BHSSC is comprised of five divisions dedicated to aiding school districts, individuals, and the communities. Work Location

  • $19•23/hour based on experience Job Type•Full-time Job Description•Assist in delivering speech and language therapy services as directed by a supervising SLP Implement individualized treatment plans and therapeutic activities aligned with IEP, IFSP, and 504 goals Support development of communication skills, including language, articulation, and use of assistive technology Conduct observations, collect data, and assist with assessments as delegated (no independent interpretation of results) Maintain accurate documentation, records, and progress notes Collaborate with educators, families, and multidisciplinary teams Travel between school sites to provide services Participate in meetings, trainings, and student support planning Serve as a resource to staff and assist with referrals when appropriate Ensure compliance with state regulations and district policies Other duties as assigned.
Job Qualifications
  • Completion of an accredited Speech-Language Pathology Assistant (SLPA) program Licensed as an SLPA in the state of South Dakota Strong communication, organization, and time management skills Ability to work collaboratively with students, families, and professionals Knowledge of speech/language development, therapy techniques, and equipment Company Website
