Category Schools - SLPA Job Type Contract Step into a rewarding contract opportunity making a positive impact in school settings as a Speech-Language Pathology Assistant (SLPA) near Fredericksburg, VA. You'll support students' communication development and work collaboratively with a passionate educational team for the duration of the school year. This role is tied to the renewal of a well-established program, ensuring robust support and resources.
Key Qualifications and Experience:
Valid SLPA licensure or eligibility in Virginia Prior experience in a school environment highly preferred Strong understanding of childhood speech and language development Ability to implement therapy plans under the supervision of a licensed Speech-Language Pathologist Excellent organizational, communication, and time management abilities Compassionate, adaptable, and eager to foster student growth
Primary Responsibilities:
Provide direct support to students with speech and language needs based on individualized education plans (IEPs) Assist with therapy material preparation and documentation of progress Conduct screenings and follow-up activities as directed by a supervising SLP Maintain accurate records for student sessions and outcomes Collaborate with teachers, staff, and families to promote communication skills in the classroom Participate in school-based team meetings and contribute to program development This position offers a unique chance to strengthen your professional skills within a collaborative school environment, supporting students' success.
