Job Description

Category Schools - SLPA Job Type Contract Step into a contract opportunity supporting students as a Speech-Language Pathology Assistant (SLPA) in a school-based environment near Hampton, VA. Collaborate with educators and licensed Speech-Language Pathologists to help students develop vital communication skills and achieve their academic goals. This position is especially ideal for self-motivated professionals with a passion for making a positive difference in students' daily lives.
Desired Qualifications:
Valid SLPA license or certification School-based experience or background preferred Excellent verbal and written communication skills Ability to work independently as well as within a team setting Organizational skills for maintaining accurate records and session notes Comfort with technology and common educational software Strong desire to help students reach their full potential
Key Responsibilities:
Implement speech-language therapy services as directed by the supervising Speech-Language Pathologist Assist in developing engaging activities and exercises to target speech, language, and communication goals Track student progress and maintain documentation according to school and legal standards Participate in team meetings and collaborate with staff and parents/caregivers as needed Support classroom teachers in carrying out communication-related accommodations or strategies Adhere to confidentiality policies in all student interactions Ensure compliance with federal, state, and district regulations This contract role offers a unique opportunity to advance your experience while playing a meaningful role in students' lives.
