Central Sterile Processing Technician - Full Time Days Valley Presbyterian Hospital - 4.0 Van Nuys, CA Job Details Full-time 1 day ago Qualifications Fire Safety Certification Full Job Description Central Sterile Processing Technician Valley Presbyterian Hospital Ensure Safe, Sterile & Ready-to-Use Surgical Equipment At Valley Presbyterian Hospital, our Sterile Processing team plays a critical role in patient safety and surgical excellence. We're seeking a detail-oriented Central Sterile Processing Technician to ensure all surgical instruments, supplies, and equipment are properly cleaned, sterilized, and ready for use. What You'll Do Collect, decontaminate, inspect, assemble, package, sterilize, and distribute surgical instruments and supplies Disassemble, clean, and reassemble equipment following manufacturer instructions and aseptic techniques Operate sterilization equipment and ensure all sterilization parameters are met and documented Inspect instruments for functionality and completeness; replace as needed Assemble procedure trays, case carts, and emergency carts accurately Fulfill supply and equipment requests (electronic, verbal, or written) in a timely manner Support emergency and urgent requests with efficiency and accuracy Maintain clean, organized, and compliant work areas Collaborate with clinical teams to support optimal patient care What You Bring Strong knowledge of sterilization techniques, infection control, and workflow processes Experience with instrument cleaning, inspection, and assembly Familiarity with surgical instruments and supply sets preferred Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills Ability to work in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment Strong communication and teamwork skills Experience Minimum 2 years of experience in Sterile Processing, Central Service, or Operating Room preferred Requirements High school diploma or equivalent preferred Current certification through HSPA or CBSPD required Ability to obtain LA City Fire Card within 30 days of hire
Key Responsibilities Assembly & Sterilization:
Assemble instrument trays and sterilize equipment per established procedures Perform cleaning and decontamination using proper techniques and equipment Ensure all sterilization documentation is complete and accurate
Distribution & Inventory:
Deliver and restock supplies and equipment Process and fulfill requisitions and urgent requests
Standards & Compliance:
Maintain compliance with infection control, safety, and regulatory standards Ensure all work meets or exceeds quality expectations
Teamwork & Operations:
