Job Description

Job Summary We are seeking a dedicated Sterile Processing Technician to join our healthcare team. In this vital role, you will be responsible for the sterilization, preparation, and management of surgical instruments and medical devices to ensure patient safety and compliance with health standards. The ideal candidate will possess strong attention to detail, excellent knowledge of sterile processing procedures, and a commitment to maintaining the highest standards of hygiene and safety. This position offers an opportunity to contribute significantly to patient care by supporting the efficiency and safety of surgical operations. Duties Receive, inspect, and sort surgical instruments and medical equipment for sterilization readiness. Operate sterilization equipment using appropriate aseptic techniques to ensure all items are properly disinfected. Maintain accurate inventory records of sterile supplies, ensuring availability for clinical teams. Follow strict protocols related to physiology, anatomy, and medical terminology to correctly process specialized instruments. Conduct routine quality checks on sterilized items and document sterilization cycles for compliance. Manage inventory levels efficiently, reorder supplies as needed, and verify stock accuracy regularly. Adhere to infection control policies and safety standards during all processing activities. Collaborate with surgical teams to understand instrument needs and ensure timely availability. Maintain a clean, organized work environment that supports aseptic procedures. Participate in ongoing training related to sterile processing techniques and hospital policies. Experience Prior experience in sterile processing or central sterile supply within a healthcare setting is preferred. Knowledge of physiology, anatomy, and medical terminology relevant to surgical instruments. Familiarity with inventory management systems used in hospitals or clinics. Understanding of aseptic techniques and infection control practices. Strong attention to detail with excellent organizational skills. Ability to follow detailed instructions accurately and work efficiently under pressure. Certification in sterile processing or related fields is advantageous but not mandatory.
