As a supervisor, you will coordinate daily operations, manage inventory control, and mentor a team of sterile processing technicians to uphold compliance with industry regulations and best practices. Responsibilities Supervise the sterilization process of surgical instruments, ensuring adherence to aseptic techniques and infection control protocols Manage inventory levels of sterile supplies, implementing effective inventory management strategies to prevent shortages or excess stock Lead and train a team of sterile processing technicians, fostering a collaborative environment focused on continuous improvement and compliance Oversee documentation of sterilization procedures, equipment maintenance logs, and quality assurance records with precision and transparency Conduct regular audits of sterilization areas to ensure compliance with regulatory standards such as OSHA, JCAHO, and CDC guidelines Collaborate with surgical teams and hospital departments to coordinate instrument reprocessing schedules and resolve any issues promptly Maintain a thorough understanding of anatomy and physiology relevant to surgical instruments to ensure proper handling and processing Skills Strong management experience with proven leadership capabilities in a healthcare setting Extensive knowledge of sterile processing procedures, aseptic techniques, and infection control standards Excellent inventory management skills to control supplies efficiently while minimizing waste Solid understanding of medical terminology, anatomy, and physiology related to surgical instruments and procedures Ability to supervise teams effectively while maintaining high standards of quality and safety Detail-oriented with excellent organizational skills for documentation and recordkeeping Effective communication skills for training staff, collaborating with medical professionals, and ensuring compliance Embark on a rewarding career where your expertise in sterile processing can elevate patient safety and operational excellence.
