Ability to lift and carry 25 pounds; capable of pushing and pulling carts; must tolerate prolonged standing. One year previous experience in Sterile Processing working in Surgery. Knowledgeable of basic anatomy, physiology and microbiology. Basic experience working with general instrumentation, house wide kits and trays and surgical trays. Familiar with vendor tray process. Experienced with Durable Medical Equipment. Must possess effective verbal and written communication skills, e.g., phone etiquette. Must be able to perform basic mathematical calculations and be computer literate. Must be able to work effectively in a team environment. Knowledge of surgical instruments for all surgical services. Must possess working knowledge of HIVAC, Gravity displacement sterilizers, Scope Re-processors, Ultrasonic, Washer Decontaminators and similar processing equipment. Knowledge and understanding ANSIA/AAMI, AORN and title 22 standards.
