In this vital role, you will be the backbone of ensuring that surgical instruments and medical devices are meticulously cleaned, sterilized, and prepared for patient procedures. Your expertise will directly contribute to patient safety, infection control, and the smooth operation of our outpatient services. This position offers an energetic environment where precision meets compassion, empowering you to make a meaningful difference every day. Responsibilities Thoroughly clean, disinfect, and sterilize surgical instruments and medical equipment following strict aseptic techniques and hospital protocols. Inspect instruments for damage or wear, ensuring all items meet safety and quality standards before use. Manage inventory levels of sterile supplies and medical equipment, accurately tracking usage and reordering supplies as needed. Document sterilization processes meticulously, maintaining detailed records for compliance and quality assurance purposes. Collaborate with surgical teams to ensure all necessary instruments are prepared and available for upcoming procedures. Follow established safety guidelines and infection control procedures to prevent contamination and ensure a sterile environment. Assist in troubleshooting equipment issues and coordinate maintenance or repairs to uphold operational efficiency. Experience Prior experience in sterile processing or surgical instrument reprocessing is highly preferred. Prior experience with ophthalmology instrumentation preferred. Strong knowledge of anatomy, physiology, and medical terminology to understand instrument functions and procedural needs. Demonstrated proficiency in inventory management systems for tracking supplies and sterilization cycles. Familiarity with aseptic techniques, sterilization methods (such as autoclaving), and infection prevention protocols. Excellent attention to detail combined with the ability to follow complex procedures accurately.
Pay:
$25.00 - $34.00 per hour
