Job Description

Responsible for supporting Sterile Processing operations and its services to other departments in the hospital. Uses sterile processing techniques to deliver clean/sterile instruments, equipment, and supplies to SPD customers.

All job qualifications listed indicate the minimum level necessary to perform this job proficiently.
LEVEL OF EDUCATION CERTIFICATIONS, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS
Preferred:
Certification in Sterile Processing.
TECHNICAL REQUIREMENTS
Minimum:
Computer skills. Background knowledge with respect to the care and handling of instrumentation as well as familiarity with sterilization processes.

All knowledge, skills, and abilities listed indicate the minimum level deemed necessary to perform this job proficiently. Must be able to follow the highest of standards dictated by the governing bodies over sterile processing and infection control. Must be able to work effectively in a diverse environment, able to take direction from others. Self directed, able to function independently. The employee communicates effectively. Cleans, disinfects, processes, and sterilizes reusable instruments per policies and procedure. (55%) Restocks inventory and supplies. Receives and fills orders, as well as posts charges. (10%) Operates sterilization equipment. (10%) Routinely cleans department. (10%) Rounds facility to retrieve equipment. (5%) Participates in maintaining the inventory and automation components of instrument tracking. (10%)
