Job Description

Sterile Processing Technician (Part-Time) Ophthalmology Ambulatory Surgery Center (ASC) Our privately owned Ophthalmology Ambulatory Surgery Center is seeking a dependable, detail-oriented Sterile Processing Technician to join our surgical team. This position plays a critical role in ensuring the safe and efficient processing, sterilization, and maintenance of surgical instruments and equipment used in ophthalmic procedures. We are a patient-focused, team-oriented ASC dedicated to providing exceptional surgical care in a professional and supportive environment.
Responsibilities:
Decontaminate, inspect, assemble, package, and sterilize surgical instruments and equipment. Operate and monitor sterilization equipment according to established policies and procedures. Maintain accurate sterilization logs and documentation. Ensure compliance with infection control standards, OSHA regulations, and accreditation requirements. Perform quality assurance testing and monitoring of sterilization processes. Assist with instrument inventory management and ordering recommendations. Prepare case carts and ensure instruments are available for scheduled surgical procedures. Maintain cleanliness and organization of sterile processing and storage areas. Collaborate with OR staff to support efficient surgical flow.
Qualifications:
Previous sterile processing experience required; ophthalmology or ASC experience preferred. Sterile Processing Certification (CRCST or equivalent) preferred but not required. Knowledge of sterilization techniques, infection prevention, and instrument handling. Strong attention to detail and organizational skills. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Reliable attendance and commitment to patient safety. Pay:
$18.00 - $22.00 per hour
