Job Description Provides critical support in the sourcing, purchasing, tracking, and provisioning of surgical instruments. Experience 4 years of experience in surgical services area with relevant sterile processing and instrument maintenance experience Preferred Qualifications N/A Education High school diploma or equivalent Certification Summary Sterile Processing Certification or Certified Surgical Technologist (CST), within 365 days of hire Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Good computer skills Excellent communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills Working knowledge of surgical instruments Job Responsibilities Researches instrument requests for replacements and provides substitution suggestions, and completes value analysis submissions for new instruments. Coordinates vendor visits and education. Maintains accurate files and data on all instruments purchased. Orders, receives, and coordinates all instruments, including loaner trays and consigned items, including updating of instrument tracking software. Works with surgeons, service line coordinators, and technologists to assess inventory instrument needs and proactively orders frequently needed replacement instruments to have on hand. Assembles accurate and complete surgical trays. Inputs instrument and tray products into instrument tracking system. Contributes to opportunity for improvement identification and process improvement within the Sterile Processing department.
