Job Summary:
We are seeking a Sterile Processing Technician / Surgical Instrument Technician to support surgical and procedural services in a hospital environment. The technician will be responsible for cleaning, disinfecting, inspecting, assembling, sterilizing, and distributing surgical instruments and equipment to ensure they are safe and ready for patient care. The ideal candidate has at least 1 year of sterile processing or instrument technician experience, strong attention to detail, and knowledge of infection prevention and sterilization procedures. Experience with surgical trays, endoscopes, robotic instruments, and other specialized equipment is highly valued.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Receive and safely handle contaminated surgical instruments and equipment.
  • Clean and disinfect instruments using manual cleaning, ultrasonic cleaners, automated washers, and other approved methods.
  • Inspect surgical instruments for cleanliness, functionality, damage, and completeness.
  • Assemble, organize, and package surgical instruments and instrument trays according to procedure requirements.
  • Operate steam and low-temperature sterilizers and verify/document sterilization cycles.
Requirements:
  • Minimum 2 year of experience as a Sterile Processing Technician, Instrument Technician, Central Sterile Technician, or similar role.
  • CRCST, CSPDT or CASSPT Certificate preferred.
  • BLS from AHA required.
