Job Description
Piedmont Healthcare is seeking a Central Sterile Tech II to support weekend night operations, ensuring safe, sterile instruments for patient care. In this on-site role, you will decontaminate, inspect, assemble, wrap, and sterilize surgical instruments and equipment according to AAMI, AORN, and hospital standards. You'll manage case carts, monitor sterilization cycles, maintain accurate records, and collaborate closely with OR teams. Responsibilities Decontaminate, clean, and disinfect instruments and equipment following infection prevention standards Assemble, wrap, and sterilize instrument trays using autoclaves and other sterilization methods Inspect instruments for functionality, cleanliness, and integrity before distribution Prepare and stage case carts and supplies to support scheduled and emergency surgeries Monitor and document sterilization cycles, biological indicators, and load records Maintain inventory of sterile supplies and report equipment or supply issues promptly Collaborate with OR and clinical staff to address urgent instrument and equipment needs Follow AAMI, AORN, and hospital protocols to ensure regulatory compliance on night shifts Required Skills Instrument sterilization Decontamination procedures Autoclave operation High-level disinfection Tray assembly and wrapping Instrument identification Quality control and documentation Infection prevention and control Use of tracking systems (e.g., Censitrac, EPIC modules) Adherence to
